SHiNE staff have received thousands of positive messages from young people over the past 8 years. Here is just a small sample:
· I would like to let you all know that SHiNE is the best thing I have ever seen and I will be asking to start a SHINE Club in my school for the start of next year. You don't lecture us and you don't yell. You listen. Our problems no longer have to stay inside of us and we never have to be embarrassed to talk. I commend you for the hard work and the trust you earned and I hope you are as proud of your work as we are. Now that I know about SHINE I will be attending what I can. I live just north of the City and can just hop a train. Good Luck with everything you do and everything good you will do in the future.
· First off, I want to thank you SO MUCH for creating SHiNE. It's a wonderful place where I can be myself and I've met some really awesome people! I can let out my vibes in Poetry or I can let off steam in my journal. I love it. I've been visiting SHiNE for a little bit over a year and I've enjoyed it. I really hope we can grow larger and have more people! Diversity rules.
· I think by now you can tell im the kid that ALWAYS got picked on...So many kids threatened to kill me to the point where i HATED school just because of the other kids. I’m now working with SHiNE in my neighborhood to prevent what i went through from happening to someone else. Anyway, keep it up! If you ever need any help, with ANYTHING, EVER, let me know. :) |
